Addictions Awareness Week November 12-16

​"Nov 12th – 16th is National Addiction Awareness Week.  Barrie North students will have many opportunities throughout the week to participate in a variety activities designed to increase their awareness and education related to addictions.  With the help of some of our community partners, including Canadian Mental Health Association and The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit, students will learn about the legalization of cannabis, the risks associated with tobacco use and vaping, online gaming/gambling, in addition to information pertaining to the opioid crisis through a number of engaging and  informative sessions.   Students will also have opportunities to explore healthy coping  strategies and other ways to support a positive mental health and well-being.  If you are a parent and you're looking for resources on how to support and educate your child the following resources have been provided:"
