In March 2019, the Sarjeant Company, in conjunction with the MacLaren Art Center in Barrie, commissioned a local artist Bernadette Wells to visit four local schools, including Barrie North Collegiate, and lead workshops with visual arts students in designing art for the Sarjeant Company's concrete drum mixers. The theme for the designs was celebration of youth.

On May 2nd, each of the designs from all the participating students was displayed in the the MacLaren's Molson Community Gallery on an inventive "drum roll" that showed the 360-degree designs. There were four designs selected, one from each school, for transfer to the new fleet of cement truck drums. Congratulations to grade 9 visual arts student Caiti Hatton whose design was selected from Barrie North! Keep an eye out in the community for Caiti's beautiful artwork rotating around the concrete drum of a Sarjeant Company cement truck.
