Researching
Admission Requirements
www.osca.ca
The Ontario Secondary School’s Counsellor’s Association website contains direct
links to all Community Colleges in Ontario. Students can take a virtual
College tour, research admission requirements, see a full academic calendar of
course listings, find out about residence and costs, and have a direct e mail
link to the College.
www.ontariocolleges.ca
The application server should be open by mid October. This is the main site supported by all Colleges in Ontario.
Information is current and organized. Students enter the program and
create their own account and Personal Identification Number (PIN) to research
and apply. You can search by Programs or Colleges and compare information
on the screen. Admission requirements for each program are stated.
Students can organize their 5 program choices in order of preference and apply
directly.
College
Speakers
As students are
making post-secondary decisions, they have the opportunity to attend speaker
sessions where a representative from the institution comes to North to meet and
discuss program information and answer questions. This is a very informative
and useful tool in the research process.
A schedule of
speakers is made available to students in early September, with sessions taking
place right through to the end of November. All sessions take place during the lunch break in the Career Room (Room 110).
For a full view
of all scheduled speaking dates, students should pick up the handout Beyond
North. This important handout is available to pick up in the Career Room, or students can check out the latest list of visitors on the Grad Board in the Tech Hallway.
