Researching Admission Requirements
The Ontario Secondary School’s Counsellor’s Association web site has links to all University main web pages.  Students can take a virtual University tour, research admission requirements, see a full academic calendar of course listings, find out about residence, and have a link to contact the University directly.

Ontario Universities
This is the main site supported by all Universities in Ontario.  Information is current and organized.  Students enter the program and create their own account to research and save all information.  You can search by Programs or Universities and compare information on the screen. Admission requirements for each program are stated.  Students can organize their program choices in order of preference, print out the information and then proceed to the application website.   More research can be done on the main application website but your research begins here.

University Speakers

As students are making post-secondary decisions, they have the opportunity to attend speaker sessions where a representative from the institution comes to North to meet and discuss program information and answer questions. This is a very informative and useful tool in the research process.

A schedule of speakers is made available to students in early September, with sessions taking place right through to mid November. Students should sign up for these sessions in guidance.  Please check with your teachers for permission to attend.

For a full view of all scheduled speaking dates, students should pick up the handout Beyond North.  This important handout is in the Career Room as are the sign up lists for all speakers.

University Bus Trips

Bus trips to universities may be run in conjunction with other Barrie high schools during October/November. Schedule to be announced late September.
