GRADUATION DAY INFORMATION
COMMENCEMENT CEREMONY
Thursday June 26th, 2025, 2p.m.
- Arrive at Georgian College Gymnasium, Building J no later than 1:15 p.m. and gather in hallway A – Centre for Technologies outside the gymnasium. You should be wearing your gown. Please give any coats & personal belongings to family members to hold.
- On the table, please retrieve the Green information card. If you did not fill one in, please complete the green information card that has your name on it (please PRINT) and hold onto your completed card.
- Organize yourself along with the other grads (you become a graduate after the diplomas are presented) in your portion of the alphabet (e.g. A-E) in alphabetical order by your last name.
- Have your reader read your card out loud to you to ensure that they are pronouncing your name correctly. Get your card back from your reader (you are carrying it until just before you cross the stage).
- In alphabetical order, with your reader at the head of your group, go in the processional into the Georgian Gymnasium and sit in the reserved seating area, maintaining your alphabetical order.
- When your reader leads you to the staging area:
- please refrain from making any noise
- follow your Marshall
- When it is your turn to cross the stage and be recognized, give your card to your reader. As the reader states your name for the audience, walk across the stage to the presenter and receive your diploma/award(s).
- When you have received everything, leave the stage via the opposite ramp (a staff member will be standing there) and return to your seat.
- Throughout the proceedings, if you need assistance, please ask your reader.
NOTE: We suggest that you wear appropriate footwear that you are comfortable for walking to and across the stage.
